Alpha Safety is a homegrown Fort St. John success story that began as a Father/Son team who came to town with nothing more than a couple of medic vehicles and a vision!

Today Alpha is a thriving company servicing the Oil & Gas, Mining and Forestry Sectors of Northern British Columbia, Alberta and the Arctic. Alpha Safety Ltd’s main office, including training facility and shop, is situated in Fort St John, BC with a secondary office located in Fort Nelson, BC.

Alpha Safety Ltd. features a hard working, highly trained, experienced and dedicated staff which enables us to provide exceptional service. From our school to our field attendants, whether they be medics or air safety hands, we strive to deliver service that is over and above your expectations. Committed to staying current and in the front of our industry, we have a mandate for continuous education.

Medic Division:

Our Medic Division has grown from two units to an entire fleet of modern, top of the line fully equipped Mobile Treatment Centers (MTC’s). Our Mobile Treatment Centers are mounted on 4x4 trucks, serviced on a strict maintenance schedule and are fully integrated and fully coordinated within our full spectrum of pre-hospital and emergency care services.

Our team of Medics includes certified and experienced Level Three First Aid Attendants as well as ALS Paramedics. Alpha Safety Ltd. provides emergency dispatch, response and medical services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Safety Training Agency:

Alpha Safety’s training agency is situated in the heart of Fort St. John and is staffed by a family of experienced instructors and office personnel. Our instructors incorporate knowledge they have obtained while working the oil patch and/or as a paramedic in their teaching curriculum.

Alpha Safety’s training program has been developed over the years by choosing the highest quality, certified courses available. We believe in making the learning process as enjoyable and stress-free as possible. It is our experience that if our students enjoy themselves, they better retain the valuable life skills in which they are being taught. Through a hands-on learning environment, students gain the confidence needed to perform in emergency situations.

We strive to combine excellent instruction with a relaxed and caring environment. For students with comprehension difficulties, Alpha Safety offers solutions to support each student’s needs.

Our governing commitment to our safety and medic students is monitored by the registering bodies and maintained by constant course evaluations by our clients. The contents are read and considered by our instructors to keep our course delivery at its optimum potential.

Our courses span from basic one day safety classes that all workers need in the patch, to those focused on more particular lines of work such as Level 3 Medics, Traffic Control and Faller courses. For a complete list or courses contact our head office.

Air Safety Division:

Alpha Safety Ltd. offers a diverse range of safety solutions to the oil and gas industry. Included in our professional and quality services are our Air Safety Trailers and Air/Office Combo trailers, designed and equipped to provide maximum protection to personnel encountering H2S environments. The Air Safety Division is Alpha Safety’s newest division and has proven itself to be very successful. This is due in part to the superior quality of our Air and Air/Office Trailers as well as to the great management and Air Hand personnel staffing this division. The management and staff are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to take your call.

Increasing the Talent:

Alpha Safety was recently chosen as the pilot site project company for the “Increasing the Talent” initiative that was launched in Fort St. John in the summer of 2007. The petroleum industry has acknowledged the need for a more innovative approach to attraction, retention and workforce development in hard to recruit areas. As a result the Petroleum Human Resources Council of Canada and local government bodies and industries have joined forces to create and implement tools that the community and employers can use to help attract and retain their employees. The Increasing the Talent Working Group is committed to raising the standards of employment in the service industries that are involved in the Oil and Gas Sector and Alpha Safety is honored to be an integral part of this process.
